This interior finish is a 100% natural earth plaster, providing an environment that is wholesome for your friends and family. A unique combination of clays, aggregates and natural pigments are used to create the colors and textures that make this interior finish a natural choice for warmth and beauty. With low inherent energy used during the manufacturing process and less waste in production and application, this interior finish was created out of a commitment to the environment and the future.

Clay naturally controls climate by regulating arid and humid air, absorbing and releasing moisture in response to environmental changes. Warm to the touch in winter and surprisingly cool in summer, clay plaster creates a wall surface that is inviting to the senses.

Clay Loma

Loma is always used as the base (first) coat for all American Clay plasters, and may also be used as the final (second) coat. Loma is the easiest plaster for do-it-yourself enthusiasts who have little or no plastering experience. Comes in 50 lb. bags that will cover approximately 100 square feet with two coats.

Pigment

Natural oxides and ochres used are fade resistant. Mix accordingly for even coloration throughout plaster.

Sanded Primer

American Clay Sanded Primer provides a uniform toothed surface that insures a proper bond for plasters applied over new drywall, firm paint coats, sealed masonry or plaster and other substrates whose texture is not rough enough for plaster adhesion. Solvent-free and elastic, it is specially formulated to allow the plaster coats to remain breathable, reducing the formation of mold growth.

Gloss Sealer

This gloss sealer is a very low VOC product. Its high sheen makes walls easier to clean - excellent for high-traffic areas, such as hallways, entries, stairwells, and children's rooms. It also provides additional water-resistance to walls behind sinks and around bathtubs but should not be used on walls in constant contact with direct water sprays. Gloss Sealer must be applied over a coat of Penetrating Sealer to minimize color changes. A change in color will occur with American Clay Gloss Sealer. We recommend testing a small area on your wall to see the color change.
